Peter studied medicine at the University of Tasmania before undertaking training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His training took place at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital and King Edward Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. Peter completed further studies in the United Kingdom in High Risk Obstetrics and Ultrasound use in the care of those pregnancies.

Peter actively practices in high risk obstetrics working at both Calvary and Hobart Private Hospitals. He continues to cover high risk obstetrics for the State at The Royal Hobart Hospital for those women delivering before thirty four weeks in his role as an Honorary Visiting Medical Officer.

Peter is a Consultant Gynaecologist working in general gynaecology with experience gained at King Edward Hospital in laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic oophorectomy and general laparoscopic procedures, in particular for endometriosis. He has a keen interest in pelvic surgery and prolapse repair including the repair and care of the bladder which is practised at Calvary and Hobart Private Hospitals.

Peter is known for his gentle manner and caring approach along with the ability to explain complicated medical science in a way that is easy to understand.
