Dr Frank O’Keeffe
Frank is a University of Tasmanian Medical School graduate qualifying with 1st Class Honours in 1999 after previously working as a Physiotherapist for 13 years.
His Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training was completed on the Tasmanian training programme over six years. Frank practices Gynaecology. He has worked at the Royal Hobart Hospital (part time) for the past 17 years and at Hobart OBGYN for over 10 years.
Interests include general Gynaecology including vaginal and pelvic floor prolapse surgery, laparoscopic surgery, urogynaecology, colposcopy and gynaecologic ultrasound.
Frank also has a special interest in Specialist Trainee Education through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College on a voluntary basis, performing accreditation for O & G training positions to assure that trainees are getting appropriate training experiences. Training also extends to practical teaching of current UTAS Medical Students who do placements at Hobart OBGYN.
Frank is the current state councillor for Tasmania on RANZCOG College Council.
Extracurricular activities include, family – Wife, and three daughters, bicycling enthusiast, interests in the Arts and Music, and of course AFL (tragic Bulldog supporter)…often sighted at State Cinema or along cycleway.
